Do Not Go

 Do Not Go

Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,

Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat;

But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,

When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth!

~Rudyard Kipling, "The Ballad of East and West"

I will find you.
My thoughts inevitably
lead to you.
We are entangled at a quantum level.
Does distance make a difference in the end,

or are we all equidistant from God?

Just in case, I want you to be close.
We will perform this emotional dance
regardless of proximity.
But do not go.
Stay a little longer,
Linger.
We are destined for constant movement,

destined to never really meet.

Hence, it is a wonder of nature

that we are coinciding today.

You're so far, yet so near.
Stay till the break of tomorrow.

Even so,

I will find you again,
But do not go.
