Deflection

“The arts of power and its minions are the same in all countries and in all ages. It marks a victim; denounces it; and excites the public odium and the public hatred, to conceal its own abuses and encroachments.”
~Henry Clay

Deflection

Their followers were deflectors,
Obeying the Masters of Distraction,
Who gained more and more followers
As the hate grew.
Hate is easy to latch on to,
Especially when it feels righteous.
They, both of them, used the Machines
To generate Outrage;
Ones knew why, the others didn’t.
Powerful groups of people need
Useful idiots, minions who believe
They are righting a wrong,
When really, they are writing
A manufactured wrong.
Read the news these days;
Even the algorithms can be fooled,
Deployed to hide their corruption,
To conceal their abuses
And encroachments.
Deflection is always their tool.
Try not to deflect or be deflected.
Therein lies your own power.
