Podcast Poetry Part 1 #457-Lex Fridman interviews Jennifer Burns

Individuals are the cells of the Earth.
Freedom is not God.
What if God is not free?
Who’s God’s God, and the God after God?
What would Friedman say to Rand today?
What would Rand say to Friedman tomorrow?
Is there a cranky happiness or a happy crankiness?
Is intellectual humility overrated or underrated?
Intellectual confidence is inversely related to willingness to change your mind.
What if Atlas kneeled?
The knees are the strongest joints in our body.
Kneeling is actually a sign of willingness to bear more, it is a surrender that is incomplete: if Atlas kneeled, he may have freed himself from his burden…
Friedman living through the Great Depression is the depression he needed to enlighten his economic theory.
When will the Greater Depression come?
Who will then be the next Friedman?
What comes after capitalism?
Not communism, I pray.
Friedman is a capitalist optimist.
Should cryptocurrency be the new capital?
Does cryptolism come after capitalism?
Tokenism.
What if everyone had their own token?
How would that work?
It’s as impractical as collectivism and communism, but it would be the epitome of individualism.
Individuals are their own capital.
If the Great Depression was an institutional failure and not a failure of capitalism, then one has to wonder if the institutions like the Federal Reserve intentionally failed? Negligence leads to failure often times, but was the Great Depression intentionally and institutionally orchestrated to pave the way for FDR’s social programs, for a larger state, for a socialismo americano?
Around the world, these collectivist, anti-capitalism ideas were brewing, but in the U.S., the main bastion of capitalism, something big had to happen to have citizens lose faith in the system as it was.
Perhaps for cryptolism or tokenism to come next, the current monetary, institutional, and banking systems must break, must fail completely, but fail how? Intentionally, negligently, naturally?
Marginalism explains why tokenism wouldn’t work.
There is a diminishing return to each new token created.
But why?
And how can that be changed?
Are people working on changing that?
Why should it be changed?
There is certainly no diminishing return to each new human created, to each new individual.
Money is marginal. Humans are not.
Cryptolism and Tokenism won’t work.
So what comes after capitalism?
Robots will change the economic game.
Is there a diminishing return to each new robot created?
Should robots decide what comes after capitalism?
Robotism is going to come next.
Chips are the new capital.
CPUs are the new capital.
Chipism.
If you chip in, you win.
Keynes’ economic theories stand on the cane of government. But government is always a cane, a tool, something that cannot solve the issue with the feet and legs and lower body. What moves society is the economy. What moves the collective is the economy. What moves the economy is individuals. Individuals are the hands, economy is the feet, and society and the collective are a consequence of both, the whole. The government will never fix the feet. It will always be a prop, a mass-produced band-aid.
You need individuals, specialists to fix the feet. Because you need hands to fix feet.
Maybe a Neuralink.
Laissez-Faire is a command to the government.
Let be. Don’t be.
Let do. Don’t do.
Let the hands, the individuals, even the invisible hands and the invisible individuals, be and do. It’s that simple.
The words we use define our focus.
Let’s talk about money.
