My Brain

Parts are devoted
To decisions,
Both moral, ethical, and even selfish.
Parts remember.
There are the memory of memories.
Parts are about survival or instinctual choices,
The reptile and the mammal, both within,
Connections and relationships, and logic
And thought organization, and language,
And emotions, and nonverbal cues.
I am so many different parts,
Both rational and irrational,
Reflective and reactive,
Creative and causal.
All these parts integrate
In harmony,
Making me sometimes different
People with multiple
Personalities.
But I am out of many
Parts,
One.
I am one which cannot be transplanted,
One which cannot be replaced.
I am the fiction of the
Real,
And reality in the fiction,
I am collectively a
Brain,
Integrated,
An experience
Of parts
Assembled.
I am my brain
And my brain is me.
